Policy of Screening for Plagiarism
At Jurnal Fundadikdas (Fundamental Pendidikan Dasar), we are committed to maintaining originality, academic integrity, and ethical publication practices. All submitted manuscripts are screened for textual similarity and potential plagiarism, including inappropriate self-plagiarism, using similarity-detection tools such as Turnitin or iThenticate. As a general screening guideline, submitted manuscripts are expected to meet the following criteria:
(1) Overall Similarity Index: Below 20%.
(2) Similarity from Any Single Source: No more than 4%.
Similarity reports are evaluated by the editorial team to assess the nature, extent, and context of the identified overlaps. Properly cited quotations, references, common terminology, and standard methodological expressions may contribute to the similarity score and will be assessed in context. A similarity score alone does not establish plagiarism, nor does a score below the specified threshold guarantee that a manuscript is free from plagiarism. The editorial team will consider whether the identified overlap involves appropriate attribution, unauthorized copying, duplicate publication, or inappropriate reuse of previously published material. If a manuscript exceeds the specified thresholds, the Managing Editor may request clarification or revision, conduct further screening, or recommend rejection depending on the seriousness and nature of the findings. Substantial plagiarism, unattributed copying, or other serious violations of publication ethics may result in rejection regardless of the overall similarity score. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original, properly cited, and compliant with the journal's publication ethics policies. All editorial decisions concerning potential plagiarism will be based on the evidence in the similarity report and a contextual assessment of the manuscript.
