Digital Archiving

Digital Archiving and Preservation Policy

JECCE (Journal of Early Childhood Care and Education)
is committed to safeguarding the long-term preservation, integrity, and accessibility of its published scholarly content. The journal recognizes the importance of electronic backup and digital preservation in maintaining the scholarly record and supporting continued access to published research.

Digital Preservation and Archiving

The journal seeks to preserve its published articles, issues, and associated publication metadata through appropriate digital archiving and backup procedures. Where available and technically implemented, recognized digital preservation services, such as the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), or CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), may be used to support long-term preservation and continued access to published content.

Electronic Backup and Data Security

The journal maintains appropriate backup procedures for its website, publication files, and associated metadata to reduce the risk of data loss caused by technical failures, accidental deletion, or other unforeseen circumstances. Backup copies are managed separately from the primary publishing platform, with reasonable measures taken to support data integrity and recovery when necessary.

Continuity of Access

In the event that the journal's website becomes temporarily unavailable or publication activities are discontinued, the journal will make reasonable efforts to maintain or restore access to its published scholarly content through available backup copies and any participating digital preservation services.

Transparency and Policy Implementation

The journal will clearly identify the digital preservation systems it actively uses and update this policy when its archiving arrangements change. Participation in any external preservation service will be stated only after the relevant service has been configured and verified.

This policy reflects the principles of transparency and best practice in scholarly publishing, including the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and its collaborating organizations.
