Manuscript Types

NOTION, published by Universitas Ahmad Dahlan, accepts original scholarly manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Submissions must demonstrate academic rigor, originality, and relevance to the journal’s scope. The journal welcomes the following types of manuscripts:

1. Original Research Articles
Original Research Articles present comprehensive empirical or theoretical investigations that make a clear and significant contribution to existing scholarship. Manuscripts should generally range from 5,000 to 8,000 words, including tables, figures, and references. Research articles should follow a clear and systematic structure, typically based on the IMRaD framework (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion), followed by a Conclusion and other relevant sections as appropriate to the research design and disciplinary conventions.

2. Systematic Review Articles
Systematic Review Articles provide rigorous, critical, and comprehensive syntheses of existing research on a clearly defined topic. These manuscripts must employ a transparent and reproducible review methodology, following established reporting guidelines where applicable, such as PRISMA. Submissions should go beyond descriptive summaries by critically evaluating the existing literature, identifying research gaps, developing conceptual or theoretical insights, and proposing directions for future research. Where appropriate, reviews may incorporate meta-analysis or other evidence-synthesis techniques. Manuscripts should generally range from 3,000 to 10,000 words, including references, tables, and figures.

Submission Requirements
All manuscripts must be prepared using the official NOTION manuscript template available through the journal’s website. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submissions comply with the journal’s formatting requirements, publication ethics policies, and author guidelines before submission. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors for revision prior to further editorial consideration.
