Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Originality and No-Withdrawal Commitment: The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor). Furthermore, the authors commit to completing the editorial process and will not withdraw the manuscript during the peer-review or production stages.   • Scope Compliance: The manuscript strictly aligns with the journal's specific scope. Further details of the aims and scope can be accessed at https://journal2.uad.ac.id/index.php/notion/focus_and_scope
  • File Format and Template: The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format and strictly adheres to the official NOTION Article Template. Further details can be accessed at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TP2FnCe_43LJpLxccF8wIby-E03-dEwl/edit?pli=1
  • Formatting, Tables, and References: The text is single-spaced; uses a 10-point font and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text. Tables are formatted without vertical lines (open table format).   • Plagiarism and Ethics: The manuscript is the authors' original work and has a maximum Similarity Index of 20% (via Turnitin/iThenticate) (see https://journal2.uad.ac.id/index.php/notion/plagiarism).
  • Authorship and Metadata: All authors listed have contributed significantly to the research. All authors' full names, Affiliations (including Country), and emails have been input correctly into the OJS metadata system during this submission process.

Author Guidelines

Thank you for choosing to submit your manuscript to NOTION: Journal of Linguistics, Literature and Culture. These author guidelines will ensure we have everything required so your manuscript can move through peer review process, production, and publication smoothly. Please take your time to read and follow the guidelines, as doing so will ensure your manuscript matches the journal requirements.

1- General Requirements
1.1 Language
The text should be written in proper English.

1.2 Length of Paper
The manuscript must cover about 5000-8000 words.

2- Word Processing Formats
The manuscript file should be provided in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format only.

3- Organization of Manuscript
The manuscript should follow the following order:
1- Title
2- List of authors, their affiliations and email addresses
3- Abstract
4- Keywords
5- Introduction
6- Methods
7- Results & Discussion
8- Conclusion
9- Acknowledgements & Declaration
10- References

3.1 Title
The title should be a concise and informative description of the work that accurately reflect the main scope and content of the paper. It should be no more than 20 words in length and not contain abbreviations.

3.2 List of authors, their affiliations and email addresses
Please indicate the full names and affiliations of all the authors clearly. Affiliations should include university, city, and country, and the official e-mail address. One of the authors should be designated as the corresponding author, and their email address needs to be included.

3.3 Abstract
Abstract should state briefly the background of research, research gap and contribution, methods, result and discussion, and major conclusion. It should not exceed 200-250 words. No citations should be included in the abstract.

 

3.4 Keywords
The author should provide five appropriate and short keywords immediately after the abstract. Listing your keywords with semicolons.

3.5 Introduction
This section should be concise and define the background, research gap and contribution, significance of the research by considering the relevant literature,  and particularly the most recent publications. When preparing the introduction, please bear in mind that some readers will not be experts in your field of research.

3.6 Methods

This section should contain detailed information about the procedures and steps followed in the study. It can be divided into subsections if several methods are described.

3.7 Results and Discussion
This section is a comparative or descriptive analysis of the study based on the results/findings, previous literature, and other academic documents. The results should be offered in a logical sequence, given the most important findings first and addressing the stated objectives of the study. The author should deal only with new or important aspects of the results obtained. The relevance of the findings in the context of existing literature or contemporary practice should be addressed as well.

3.8 Conclusions
The author should clearly conclude the important conclusions of the research highlighting its significance and relevance.

3.9 Acknowledgments & Declaration
The author is free to include acknowledgments or not. This section may include the names of people who in one way or another contributed to the work. It can also include information about supporting grants, funding sources, and so forth.

3.10 References
References used in the paper should follow the APA 7th Style and carefully checked for accuracy and consistency. Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list and vice versa. Expect a minimum of 30 references with a minimum of 80% to journal papers. Authors are recommended to use reference management software like Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero, or others.
