Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal/proceedings for consideration.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The manuscript is written according to the template suggested in the Author Guidelines.
  • Author has made sure that there is no plagirism in the writing of the manuscript.
  • Author has made sure that the manuscript has been written using a sound English language.

Author Guidelines

General Guidelines

  1. Manuscript shall be written in English. It is recommended that author finds somebody expert in English to proofread their manuscript prior to submission.
  2. The authors'  name should be accompanied by complete affiliation address and corresponding email.
  3. The manuscript should be an original research manuscript.
  4. The length of manuscript is minimum 6 pages and preferably no more than 20 pages. The editor will consider if a paper substantially needs more than 15 pages.
  5. It is recommended that author takes an initiative to check the manuscript's similarity using tools such as Turnitin, Ithenticate, or Plagiarism CheckerX. The IJEI cannot accept manuscript with similarity rate more than 30%.
  6. The manuscript shall be written using APA style citation and reference format. It is recommended that author uses referencing tools such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote for the manuscript reference management and formatting.
  7. Author needs to make sure that the manuscript is prepared using the IJEI's template

Structure of The Manuscript

The manuscript must be prepared using the following structure.

  1. Title. The manuscript title should be the simplest sentence but accurately describe the manuscript content. For best practice, it is no more than 12 words.
  2. Abstract. The abstract is written in English. It consists of one paragraph (150-250 words) and should not contain any citation. The structure of the abstract consists of background (urgency), objectives, method, and results.
  3. Keywords. Authors are encouraged to provide 3 to 5 keywords which are best representing the content of the manuscript.
  4. Introduction. The introduction should present the gap analysis between the ideal condition (supported with the theory/regulation) and the reality condition (supported with data), as well as the state of the art by reviewing previous relevant studies. This section needs to also provide clear objective(s) of the research.
  5. Method. The method needs to present chronology of the research procedure based on a certain research framework. It also needs to specify the subjects/sample, the objects/variables, the data collection method, the instrument, and the data analysis technique.
  6. Results and Discussion. Authors are suggested to present their articles supported with the use of figures, tables, equation, interview trancript, etc. as the supporting evidences.
  7. Conclusion. The conclusion must be in line with the research questions/objectives.
  8. References. References should be cited in the text. Only references cited in the text should be listed at the reference. It is recommended to provide at least 20 references with 80% of them are from journals. 

Please note that any manuscripts which fail to meet the journal's requirements will not be considered by the editors.
