Abstract

The explanation of the hadith in HR Abu Daud has a very strong connection with the three aspects of Maqasid, namely daruriyat, hajiyat, and tahsiniyat. These three aspects emphasise the importance of preserving food so that it is not wasted, but rather utilised as best as possible. This principle is closely related to the innovation in organic waste management developed by Kompas Lestari, a farmer group, through the maggot compost programme, which serves to process and reduce organic waste. Based on this background, this study formulates two main questions: how can the hadith of Abu Dawud Number 3845 be analysed through the Maqasid Al Sunnah approach? And how do the maqashid of the hadith interact with the practice of organic waste management using maggot compost? This study aims to explore the content of Maqashid in the hadith and explain its conceptual relationship with the maggot compost system. The approach used in this study is qualitative through library research. The hadith data was examined through several steps, namely determining Maqamu Al Hadith, Maqamu Alfadh Al Hadith, Maqamu Ma'ani Min Al Hadith, and Istinbath Al Maqashid, which will be analysed with data on maggot-based organic waste processing. The results of the research show that the command to pick up food that has fallen in Hadith Riwayat Abu Dawud Number 3845 is a fundamental principle of Zero Waste in Islam to preserve the blessings of food energy. Maggot technology has an impact in accordance with the maqshud (purpose) of the hadith because it is able to convert food waste (the object of the hadith) into protein biomass and organic fertiliser instantly, thereby producing sustainability in life.
