Profil Literasi Biosafety dan Biosecurity Siswa SMA dalam Praktikum Laboratorium Biologi

Kegiatan praktikum biologi berperan penting dalam pembentukan pengetahuan, sikap, dan keterampilan siswa, namun berpotensi menimbulkan risiko paparan agen biologis dan kecelakaan kerja jika prinsip biosafety dan biosecurity diabaikan. Rendahnya kepatuhan terhadap prosedur keselamatan dapat menghambat mutu pembelajaran dan budaya keselamatan di sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan tingkat pengetahuan siswa terkait biosafety dan biosecurity di laboratorium biologi SMA. Metode yang digunakan deskriptif kuantitatif dengan populasi siswa kelas XI dari dua SMA yang dipilih secara acak, dikode A dan B. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket tertutup dan terbuka kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa umumnya memiliki pemahaman yang cukup baik mengenai konsep biosafety dan biosecurity, terutama dalam mengenali simbol bahan kimia seperti mudah terbakar, beracun, dan korosif. Namun, pemahaman terhadap simbol lainnya masih tergolong rendah. Temuan ini mengindikasikan perlunya peran sekolah dan guru dalam menyediakan fasilitas laboratorium yang memenuhi standar keselamatan, serta merumuskan kebijakan yang mendukung keselamatan laboratorium.
