The concept of 'Thanatos and Eros' from Freudian psychoanalytic research is understood as the relationship between instincts in human behavior, which are described as conflicting settings, namely the death instinct and the life instinct. This research uses a qualitative description method and a content analysis method in the form of presenting data in the form of words and sentences taken from the novel Ziarah by Iwan Simatupang (1969) on the aspects of Thanatos (death instinct), eros (life instinct) and anxitas (anxiety). The research techniques used are literature review, note-taking, and data processing techniques. Thus, research into personality dynamics in the novel Ziarah by Iwan Simatupang obtained six data on Thanatos (death instinct), five data on eros (life instinct), and one data on anxitas (anxiety). Thanatos (death instinct) data emphasizes the death instinct in the form of aggression and suicidal actions in the Painter character, the Young and Old Operative character, and the Mayor character. The eros data (life instinct) emphasizes the sexual instinct in the painter's characters and the non-sexual instinct (lamentation poetry) in fulfilling physical needs such as feelings of hunger, thirst, work, and others. Anxiety data emphasizes the anxiety of death in the painter's character.
Titin Puji Rahayu, Moh. Atikurrahman, Jauharotin Alfin Copyright (c) 2024 Titin Puji Rahayu, Moh. From the hermeneutic reading as a whole, the poem was created by the author as a form of outpouring of his heart as well as a form of criticism of the government for the phenomenon he is seeing, the increase in basic prices that afflict the lower class society, the matrix of the poem is a situation where basic needs soar, while workers' wages only increased slightly or even did not increase. The model of the poem is "gaji bapak" and "presiden". The variants consist of five variants. However, the use of Indonesian seems to be starting to be eroded by the use of English which is recently frequently used, especially by teenagers. This raises growing concerns about its potential impact on the erosion of Indonesian, the lingua franca. This study involves the theory of extensive utilization of the English language in various fields and its current status as a global or international language. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative. Qualitative data were collected through surveys, online forms, and focus group discussions with individuals representing different linguistic backgrounds and levels of English proficiency. The results of this research showed that 96.2% of respondents always use English as their daily language in communication. Apart from that, the use of English had an impact on the use of Indonesian when having a conversation. Researchers also found that even though respondents knew Indonesian as a lingua franca, in fact they used English more by 51.9%. Therefore, this research also seeks to provide input for language planning and language policy making which aims to maintain the national language and preserve the role of Indonesian as an important communication tool in Indonesian society.

Dhino Christy Haumahu, Muhammad Rafiq Abyan, Raihan Bariq Alfarizi, Taufik Arochman Copyright (c) 2024 Dhino Christy Haumahu, Muhammad Rafiq Abyan, Raihan Bariq Alfarizi, Taufik Arochman https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 http://journal2.uad.ac.id/index.php/mimesis/article/view/9297 Wed, 31 Jan 2024 00:00:00 +0000 Representasi Budaya Bali pada Film A Perfect Fit: Analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes http://journal2.uad.ac.id/index.php/mimesis/article/view/9493
A film is a literary work in the form of moving images or videos that can be seen, heard, and shown to convey information or a message to the general public.
