This initiative addressed the increasing demand for healthy food while preserving local culinary heritage. The program, conducted in Caturharjo, Bantul, involved 27 participants, including local vendors and members of the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) team. Activities included a presentation on omega-3 benefits, practical demonstrations of omega-3 fortification, and distribution of fortified noodle samples. Surveys revealed over 80% of participants gained new insights and expressed interest in adopting the innovation. Nutritional fortification improved product quality, particularly in increasing omega-3 content. This initiative highlights the potential for Mie Lethek to compete in the health food market and contribute to the local economy, demonstrating a scalable model for fortifying traditional foods with functional nutrients
2025-05-17T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Suhendra, Siti Salamah, Imam Santosahttp://journal2.uad.ac.id/index.php/jpmuad/article/view/11992Enhancing the capacity of tray integrated with spice drought detector at Koperasi Wahana Mandiri spice processing house2024-12-02T01:35:52+00:00Anton Yudhanaeyudhana@ee.uad.ac.idNovi Febriantinovifebrianti@pbio.uad.ac.idArsyad Cahya Subrataarsyad.subrata@te.uad.ac.idMuhammad Ramadhani42307057001@webmail.uad.ac.idChalda Bhakti Jelika chalda2115022040@webmail.uad.ac.idEdy Fitriyanto edy2100022030@webmail.uad.ac.idHarti Hartiharti.kwmi@gmail.comSiswanto Siswantosisauw@gmail.com
Koperasi Wahana Mandiri Indonesia (WMI) produces processed herbal products with a processing house for spices such as red ginger, emprit ginger, turmeric, and temu lawak. One of the problems faced by Koperasi WMI is the limited drying capacity. The community service project conducted by Universitas Ahmad Dahlan (UAD) aims to increase the production of processed spices of Koperasi WMI by applying multilevel trays and dryness detection devices on solar dome dryers. The project unfolded in three stages: preparation, implementation, and mentoring. This activity empowers 11 members of the Koperasi WMI and involves MPM PWM DIY and MPM PDM Kulonprogo as collaborator partners who will assist and ensure the program's sustainability. The main activity is to apply technology by constructing multilevel trays and drought detectors. After the tray was made, training on the integrated multilevel tray with drought detector was conducted. The drought detector was simulated to determine the indicator that will light up when the dried material is completely dry with a moisture content of less than or equal to 12%. This activity has successfully installed multilevel trays and drought-detection devices. The construction of the multilevel trays succeeds in processing spices of Koperasi WMI from 200 kg to 400 kg.
2025-08-13T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Anton Yudhana , Novi Febrianti, Arsyad Cahya Subrata, Muhammad Ramadhani, Chalda Bhakti Jelika, Edy Fitriyanto, Harti , Siswanto http://journal2.uad.ac.id/index.php/jpmuad/article/view/11972Empowering parents: using short movie to help parents understand teenage sexuality2024-12-17T03:55:48+00:00Rani Prita Prabawangirani.prita.fis@um.ac.idMegasari N. The complexity of adolescent sexual behavior is often faced with various health risks, such as early pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections. The purpose of this study is to provide parents with a comprehensive understanding of effective communication strategies to adolescents regarding sexuality issues through educational media in the form of short films. The method used in this study includes three main stages, namely: (1) movie screening and discussion with parents, (2) distribution of the movie to teachers as agents of information dissemination, and (3) publication of the movie on the YouTube platform to reach a wider audience. In this research, a 15-minute movie titled “Beyond the Hormones” was developed by showing a mother's journey in understanding adolescent sexuality through interviews with experts, teenagers, and other parents. The research output in the form of this film also presents an in-depth view of the risk factors that influence adolescent sexual behavior. The results show that an audio-visual approach to educating and improving parents' understanding of adolescent sexuality is an effective strategy compared to written materials.
2025-08-20T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Rani Prita Prabawangi, Megasari N. This community service program, aimed at empowering members of Ranting 'Aisyiyah Banguntapan 2, has fostered a strong sense of community and shared purpose through training in the use of the Canva application. Activities began with mapping partner needs, followed by training based on interactive lectures, video simulations, and hands-on practice. Evaluation was conducted through a pretest and a posttest to measure the improvement of participants' understanding. The results showed that only 31% of participants had used Canva prior to the training, while 94% were able to create posters independently after the training. A total of 69% of participants felt an increase in technical knowledge, and 31% experienced an increase in creativity. These findings show that the structured Canva training was effective in improving participants' digital literacy and design skills. This program not only makes a significant contribution to supporting the digital transformation of the women's community through a practical educational approach, but it also fosters a sense of community and shared purpose among the participants, making them feel more connected and engaged
2025-08-13T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Itsnaini Irvina Khoirunnisa, Muhammad Noko Darpito, Hanna Syahida Alawi, Wisnu Dwi Haryanto, Ainunna'imah, Kartika Firdausy, Muhammad Kunta Biddinika, Anton Yudhanahttp://journal2.uad.ac.id/index.php/jpmuad/article/view/14988Enhancing mothers’ understanding of sanitation and nutrition for stunting prevention through a participatory approach in Palembang2026-01-23T02:33:54+00:00Annisa Kemala Tasyaannisakemalatsy@gmail.comDelia Yusfaranideliayusfarani_uin@radenfatah.ac.idAndi Saputraandisaputra@radenfatah.ac.idSiti Solehasitisoleha@radenfatah.ac.idAnita Restu Puji Raharjenganitaraharjeng_uin@radenfatah.ac.idFitri Junelifitrijuneli@gmail.comVega Putri Masdalenavegaputri0987@gmail.comGusti Aryantigustiaryanti553@gmail.comNaomi Puspita Dewinaomipuspita2@gmail.comNur Azizahnurazizah610258@gmail.com
Stunting in Indonesia is closely linked to inadequate sanitation and maternal health literacy. This community service program aimed to improve mothers’ knowledge and sanitation practices for stunting prevention through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach in Palembang. The program involved 39 mothers of stunted children across four public health centers. Evaluation was conducted using pre–post KAP questionnaires, household observations, and environmental measurements. The results showed that 82% of participants improved their knowledge scores compared to baseline, with average scores increasing from low to good levels. Observable behavioral changes included proper handwashing, improved waste management, safer water storage, and better home ventilation. Coliform contamination in drinking water decreased from 58.2 to 5.13 CFU/100 mL, indicating a positive improvement trend, although not yet meeting WHO standards. The formation of the “Ibu Peduli Sanitasi” group strengthened sustainability through peer education and community monitoring. This program demonstrates that participatory community empowerment effectively enhances maternal capacity and promotes sustainable sanitation behavior in stunting prevention
2025-08-18T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 Annisa Kemala Tasya, Delia Yusfarani, Andi Saputra, Siti Soleha, Anita Restu Puji Raharjeng, Fitri Juneli, Vega Putri Masdalena, Gusti Aryanti, Naomi Puspita Dewi, Nur Azizah
